Role of Context
I’ve been thinking about how differently I use my phone depending on where I am. Like, when I’m at home I might actually sit and watch something longer, but when I’m outside or waiting somewhere, I just check things quickly and move on. It’s almost like my behavior changes automatically based on the situation. Do you think things like time of day or location really affect how we use mobile apps, or is it just habit?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure context plays a big role. I’ve noticed I use completely different apps depending on whether I’m commuting, at work, or just relaxing. Even the same app feels different depending on how much time I have. I read something about this here: https://www.oxpoll.com/blog/why-mobile-sessions-feel-different-from-every-other-digital-routine/ and it explained how those short, in-between moments shape mobile usage. After that, I started paying more attention to when and why I open certain apps. It’s not random at all — it’s tied to what I’m doing at that moment.
